Japanese medical experts have successfully developed a new blood test that can diagnose 13 types of cancer.

According to Foxweekly, Japanese experts have made a breakthrough in cancer treatment. Specifically, experts from the National Cancer Center in Tokyo have developed a successful blood test that can detect up to 13 different types of cancer.
13 types of cancer include: stomach cancer, colorectal cancer, esophageal cancer, pancreatic cancer, liver cancer, cholangioma, lung cancer, breast cancer, ovarian cancer, Prostate cancer, bladder cancer, bone and soft tissue tumors, glioma.

Experts say the method can accurately predict when tested on 40,000 frozen blood samples of cancer patients. They can also diagnose early stage cancer, with an accuracy of 96%. Breast cancer was diagnosed successfully with 97% accuracy.
This method uses microRNA (miRNA), a secreted substance from the cell into the blood and control the movement of the gene. Non-coding RNA molecules, also known as miRNAs, look for cancer cells in the bloodstream. MiRNAs will differentiate between healthy cancer cells and cells, which do not break down for a certain amount of time.
The study’s lead author, Takahiro Ochiya, said: “Patients will not need to do many tests and still be able to identify stages and characteristics of cancer.”
Currently, there are no tests that can identify many types of cancer at one time. So, it can be said that this blood test will become a breakthrough in medicine.
This method has not been clinically tested in detail. Experts are asking for permission from the government to continue clinical practice. If the central government allows it, it will reduce cancer mortality and support comprehensive medical treatment.
